Big Size

Big Size

Recently, the problem of excess weight has spread, which has led to the emergence of large sizes and the difficulty of their availability in many outlets.
From here, international brands began to offer designs in different sizes and in a wider range, and some of them even offer a special section for large sizes, and we are not talking here about brands dedicated to these sizes, but rather the brands we are used to that now offer a special section called larger sizes such as H&M - LC WAKIKI And many others
And after solving the crisis of special sizes, we found another problem, which is that there is no standard for sizes in the clothing industry. As each brand uses its own random size to determine their own sizing, this means that someone who fits a size M in one brand may need a size L in another. A person simply cannot determine if something works for them without measuring it and trying it on

And due to the different body shapes from one person to another, the sizes and measurements of clothes will vary greatly even when using the height and weight chart, as it differs in the sizes of jeans. However, a general idea of the appropriate size can be obtained based on height and weight. Finding the right size for a baby or infant can also be done by relying on the size chart.

In view of the different body shapes, we will see that the woman’s body is divided into 5 shapes, namely: the oval body, the rectangle, the hourglass, the inverted triangle, or the pear-shaped body.

1 :- Hourglass body

If the shoulders and hips are roughly the same width, and the waist is narrow, then the woman has an hourglass body.

2 : - pear body:

If the size of the buttocks is greater than the size of the chest and waist, then this means that the woman has a pear body, which is characterized by small shoulders, a thinner waist and wide hips.

3 :- The body of the apple

If the waist circumference is greater than the chest and hips, this means that the woman has the apple body, which is characterized by medium to broad shoulders with a straight waist and medium hips.

4 : - Inverted triangle body

If the circumference of the chest is greater than the circumference of the waist and hips, this means that the woman has an inverted triangle body, which is characterized by broad shoulders, a straight waist, and slim hips.

5 : - The body of the rectangle

The dimensions of the rectangular body are all the same size, as it does not have a specific waist and does not contain many curves that distinguish different body shapes

As a result of the different body shapes, it is not easy to determine the appropriate size, so height and weight must be determined. It is also useful to take measurements of the chest, waist, and hips. To take measurements, this process is done using a tape measure, also known as a tailor's tape. It helps to use the size chart to determine the size.

From here, we find ourselves touching on some of the important measurements that help in choosing the most appropriate:

  • Measure chest circumference/chest circumference
  • This measurement is for dresses or clothes for the upper body, such as shirts and blouses

  • Waist circumference measurement: -
  • This measurement is important for knowing the size of dresses and clothing that is worn on the upper part of the body as well as clothing that is worn under trousers or skirts.

  • Measurement of the circumference of the pelvis: -
  • This size is for bottoms and sometimes dresses

  • Trousers Hip Measurement: -
  • This size will be for regular pants or denim "jeans"

And with the remarkable development in all life tools, a new size was invented that is used in many women’s clothes, which is the standard size, as we have witnessed in the recent period the interest of brands to offer collections of ready-to-wear and swimwear in a “uniform” size that fits everyone, thanks to new types of stretchable fabrics

This principle spread in the field of elegance after the experience of offering special collections of plus sizes that seem exclusionary in the field of fashion. It launches the concept of "uniform measurement", which comes to replace "one size", and it is still far from forming a base in the field of fashion, but it is expected to turn into one of the pillars of sustainability and inclusiveness on which the future of fashion will be built.
Many fashion brands have sought to offer modern designs in one size that can be adapted to different sizes. Thanks to special systems and tricks, stretchy fabrics, hidden pleats, and cuts that make the designs easy to adapt.
The swimwear sector has witnessed an evolution in this field, with some brands introducing stretchy designs from sizes 34 to size 44, thanks to their composition made of 97% recycled polyamide.
